The main board firmware update deals with the internal workings of the panel and has been known to solve issues like this one of where the panel is essentially not detecting there is a difference within the buttons that are being pushed.

The first firmware that was sent was for the touch/bezel firmware which is done through ActivManager.  The second firmware requested was the mainboard firmware which is done via USB stick.
